Malaria commonly cause by Plasmodium falciparum, P.vivax and P. malariae in Malaysia and P. ovale in Africa. But recently, there is research that another new species of Plasmodium can cause malaria ... the species is known as Plasmodium knowlesi.
The info from new research said that this species can be more danger than P.falciparum. The way of infection is also different, the parasite is also transmitted by mosquito but the infection call as zoonosis infection cause the parasite actually from macaque. This P.knowlesi infection can cause died.
P.knowlesi infection recently in malaysia was confirmed found in Sarawak, especially at Kapit area.
So please beware.... protect yourself from mosquito.... not only to prevent from malaria infection but other diseases also likes dengue and filariasis (elephantiasis)
